The Scene
Tucked away in the otherwise quiet Beverly Hills-adjacent neighborhood, the Joint is anonymous from the outside, cloaked in black paint and masked by a dark canopy. Fairly tiny by L.A. club standards, its square footage shortcomings are redeemed by large hanging mirrors, which provide the red room with an illusion of size and aesthetic appeal. Bench seating and adjoining tables dot one wall, while a long bar lines the other. The stage itself is brilliant to behold--elevated four feet and flanked by golden elephant tusks--and the sight lines are good from anywhere in the room.
The Draw
You won't find many froufrou cocktails here--the drinking is secondary to the music. A good sampling of indie bands pull in young industry types and rock fans six nights a week. |
